Breitling has unveiled a major update to the Chronomat collection, positioning it as a new chapter for one of the brand’s flagship lines. Rather than introducing a single new reference, the update brings significant changes across the family, centered around the new Chronomat B31 Automatic 40, the revised Chronomat B01 Chronograph 42, and a redesigned case architecture with a more seamless integration of the signature Rouleaux bracelet.
One of the most noticeable changes is the introduction of so-called hooded lugs. The new design further conceals the transition between the case and bracelet, giving the Chronomat a more cohesive appearance and bringing it visually closer to modern integrated sports watches. The bezel has also been redesigned and is now manufactured as a single component, whereas the previous version consisted of 18 separate parts.
Breitling has placed particular emphasis on the Chronomat B01 Chronograph 42. The model’s thickness has been reduced from 15.1 mm to 13.77 mm, a change that should noticeably improve both wearability and overall comfort on the wrist. The updated chronograph references have already appeared among the latest releases on Breitling’s official website.

Another key development is the introduction of the Chronomat B31 Automatic 40. The model is powered by the new automatic B31 calibre and features a classic time-and-date layout housed in a 40 mm case. According to the published specifications, the movement offers a power reserve of 78 hours.
With this update, Breitling has simultaneously refreshed the core three-hand Chronomat and revised one of the collection’s flagship chronographs. The new models are already available as part of the brand’s current lineup.
